How to join LADAM

To join LADAM, you need first to be a member of IAM Roadsmart. Once you have applied for this, they will let you know about your local clubs - just say you want to join LADAM and they will do the rest.

As soon as we know that you want to join, our Secretary will be in touch with all the club details, include where and how often we meet. If you want to do your Advaned Test, you will be allocated an Observer and we take it from there.

If you’re not quite ready for that step, you can contact us to ask for a Taster, using the Contact button. Our Secretary will be in touch to arrange this, as soon as possible.

Become an Observer

If you have taken your Advanced Test and are interested in becoming an Observer, you can talk to any of the committee, or direct with the Chief Observer.

Firstl, you’ll need to demonstrate that you are an excellent rider yourself. Once we’re satisfied with that, you’ll be paired with a Mentor, who will guide you through the training process with an Associate. This will include coaching techniques, IPSGA and Highway Code knowledge and the development of training routes, that will allow you to test all the elements of IPSGA

Once your Mentor is happy with your progress, you’ll be entered into an IAMRS National Observer Assessment. This is with an IAMRS Examiner, who will test your riding, your coaching skills and your knowledge of the IPSGA Riding System.
